Since 2022, there has been increasing promotion of the overall benefit of strength based / resistence training. More recent studies highlight that this type of training provides more benefit to overall strength, longevity, improved body composition, metabolism, and long term fat loss when compared to cardio exercies and hybrid training.
Moving is not the answer to burn calories. The body adapts very quickly to more movement to burn calories. Cardio may burn more calories during specific exercise, but may result in less calories burned throughout the day (slower metabolism). Active vs passive caloric burn / Basal Metabolic Rate
